Treaty Day Schedules 2016

Summer is here bringing warm, sunny days and the beginning of our First Nations annual treaty days.  Some of our communities have one day celebrations while others have multi-day events.  KTC Child & Family Services workers will be in attendance providing face painting for children and youth for one of the Treaty Days for each community.

 

Treaty days this year are scheduled for:

 

Whitefish Lake First Nation               June 29 - 30  POSTPONED 

Woodland Cree First Nation              July 6 - 7

Lubicon Lake Band                               July 21 - 22

Peerless - Trout First Nation             August 8

Loon River First Nation                       August 10 - 13

Whitefish Lake First Nation               August 15 - 16

 

Most of the communities have different activities for people to participate in such as parades, kids games, bingo, Strong Man & Woman competitions, canoe races, horse shoe tournaments, talent shows, moose calling contests, hand games, tug of war and inflatable play houses.  There are also food booths, free traditional food, company sponsored BBQ's, prize draws (both free & extra cost) and fireworks.
